Guy Martin in Cookstown 100 return
Tyco Suzuki star Guy Martin is set to commence his 2013 road racing campaign at the Cookstown 100 national meeting in Northern Ireland.
The Lincolnshire star has been a regular at the event in recent years and won the Open race in 2012 on the GSX-R1000, beating home favourite Ryan Farquhar.
Martin is one of the biggest draws in motorcycle road racing and is regarded as one of the best riders never to have won at the Isle of Man TT.
An elusive victory on the infamous Mountain circuit remains his top priority this year, where Martin will be joined in the Ulster team by British Superbike contender Josh Brookes.
Aussie Brookes will make his debut at the TT and is also being lined up to compete at the North West 200 road races in May.
Cookstown 100 spokesperson Kenny Loughrin told the Belfast News Letter: "Guy has confirmed his entry for the Cookstown 100 on April 26-27.
"He has been a regular with us for the past few years and to have him on the grid for 2013 is just fantastic news."
Martin's opposition at the event is likely to include Michael and William Dunlop, who have signed high-profile deals to compete at the international roads meetings in 2013 with the Honda TT Legends and Milwaukee Yamaha teams respectively.
The Cookstown 100 will take place from April 26-27.
