TT: McAMS Yamaha to run Brookes Superstock, Supersport bikes
McAMS Yamaha will field both Superstock and Supersport bikes for Josh Brookes at this year’s Isle of Man TT.
The 2015 Bennetts British Superbike champion, who competes for the McAMS Yamaha squad in BSB, has expanded his entries at this year’s Isle of Man TT having already signed a deal with Norton to race its V4 RR in the Superbike and Senior races with McAMS Yamaha entering the Superstock and Supersport classes with the Yamaha YZF-R1 and YZF-R6 respectively.

Brookes, who set the fastest ever newcomer lap in 2013 of 127.726mph, says the added experience and track time his Superstock and Supersport entries will provide can only help his charge in all classes and is relishing the challenge this year.
“I’m obviously keen to ride as many classes as possible, to test myself on different machinery and just as importantly to continue to build up my Island knowledge, which you can only do with extended track time,” Brookes said.
“It took a while to come together but I’m really happy to be riding a YZF-R6 and YZF-R1 in team colours, the Supersport bike especially has been really strong previously. Ideally we’ll get good weather during practice week and get used to these two very different bikes.”
McAMS Yamaha team boss Grant Bunting has echoed his rider’s sentiments and having secured four TT wins in the past, all in the Supersport class with Ian Hutchinson, is looking forward to returning to the Island this month.
“Josh was really keen and for Monster it’s a really important global event so we’re throwing everything at building a top-spec machine for each class,” Bunting said. “We’ve obviously had great success in the Supersport class so we’re looking forward to help Josh with his ongoing TT progression.”
