Following OMG Racing’s announcement to take on a road racing campaign in 2020 with entries for the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT, James Hillier has completed its rider line-up alongside David Johnson.
After an amicable split from Bournemouth Kawasaki, Hillier has secured a fresh start on the roads with newcomers OMG Racing. The 14-time TT podium finisher will enter both the Superbike and Superstock classes competing with the team’s BMW S1000RR and in the Supersport category with a Yamaha R6.

Hillier feels 2020 marks “the right time” for a change having partnered Bournemouth Kawasaki for a decade and has faith in the package OMG Racing is putting together despite its inexperience on the roads.
“I’m really looking forward to a new chapter in my career for 2020 with OMG Racing and riding the new BMW S1000RR and Yamaha R6. Making the decision to leave Bournemouth Kawasaki, after a really great 10-year relationship, wasn’t one I took lightly,” Hiller said.
“There are lots of challenges involved in moving teams and starting new relationships. I’ve had an affinity with Kawasaki for 14 years now and switching machines throws up its own challenges, but I’m really excited by it all.
“OMG Racing are putting together a strong package around me, I’ll be working with a crew chief I know, and very closely with the team to develop the bike. With any kind of motorsport, knowing when to make changes is pivotal to success. It’s definitely the right time for me to make this move and I can’t wait to get started.”
