No other rider has even come close to Venegas' accomplishments in the sport.

Venegas has wisely used his numerous ICE/WSRA Titles to successfully secure many valuable sponsorships and marketing opportunities. Charlies also holds the distinction of winning the richest speedway ice race in history, The World Championship Open, held last February in Las Vegas. Winning #7 would secure this standout ICE/WSRA racer's role as a true legand in motorsports.
James "Mad Dog" Mann from Bolton, England may have a say in the matter however. Mann won the 2003 World Championship and was on his way for two in a row last winter when disaster struck. While James was dicing it out in a runoff race he crashed hard into the padded outside wall. The impact sent him to the hospital with broken ribs and a dislocated shoulder.
He had surgery on his shoulder upon his return to England, healed up and returned to British League team racing in mid summer. Soon after James had come back completely and became the top team scorer. The "Bolton Bomber" wants to avenge last year's disappointment, and reclaim the World Championship he lost last season by just 2 points.
Two time National ICE Racing Champion Ronny Kemp from Cary, NC will try to win it all this winter in the Nitro Speedway Division. Articulate Ronny, who recently was featured on a segment of the popular SpeedChannel show Two-Wheel Tuesday, will attempt to win his first World ICE Racing Championship in 05. Kemp finished third overall in the world last season.
The legendary and ageless John "Mountain Man" Grant, a decendent of Ulysses S. Grant, will race the first half of the 29th Annual World Championship ICE Racing Series. If all goes well he just may run the whole tour. Grant has been racing motorcycles for 40 years.
Standout California speedway bike racer Charlie Coolie has his sights set high for this winter. "ICE Cold" Coolie is racing to win, to take Rookie of the Year honors and to finish as high as possible in the 2005 World Championship ICE Racing points standings.
