Machine appoint Chaplain.
Oxford Silver Machine have appointed Reverend Hedley Feast as the Clubs chaplain, the first speedway club to have one.
Rev. Feast is the chaplain of the local John Radcliffe Hospital and also has a programme on local BBC radio. Explaining his reasons is Nigel Wagstaff: "Many sports clubs have a club chaplain and I think it is an important step for the club as there are a lot of ways that he may be able to help".

Rev. Feast's first duty will come this Thursday, May 12th, 2005 when he will be hoping to provide a little extra help as the defending Champions the Poole Pirates are in town. Prior to the start of the meeting he will bless the track and the bikes of the Silver Machine riders.
Thursday will see a number of guests at the stadium, not least local DJ, and former five live and TV journalist, Sybil Ruscoe in attendance. There will also be a trials display by the nephew of Simon Wigg, Alex. Alex, who is Julian Wigg's son, is an accomplished national trials rider and he will be doing a demonstration prior to the start of the meeting.
Before the hectic action of Thursday, the Silver Machine travel away for their first 'B' fixture of the season against the Peterborough Panthers at the East of England Showground on Wednesday evening.
On the team front, Stefan Andersson is expected to ride with no ill effects from his nasty looking spill at Brandon last Friday evening.
