Crump 'pretty stunned' after Cardiff nightmare.

Defending Speedway World Champion, Jason Crump, has suffered his worst result in the previous six years after finishing a dismal 14th at the British Grand Prix held at the Millennium Stadium at Cardiff in Wales on June 11.

Jason was excluded an unprecedented three times in five races and only completed eight laps during the night. In all there were nine exclusions during the night with may riders facing the wrath of an over zealous referee.

"I'm still pretty stunned about how the night unfolded," said Jason some five hours after the event. "I guess the ref didn't like me, but seriously there is going to be a lot of things said and done about his performance. It wasn't only me as there are a lot of other people who are really upset. His decisions were very inconsistent and the consequences of his actions could be very, very big for a few of us.

"I'll admit the last one was my fault but the other two I still can't understand especially in one of them I get pushed into the boards by another rider and crash then, I get excluded without any penalty to the guy who caused the accident."

Swede, Tony Rickardsson, continued his impressive season taking his third win from four starts but Jason still maintains his second place in the title. While the points gap has increased there are still five Grands Prix left and the basic fact in racing is that anything can happen on any given night.

"I don't think I can have another night like that for a while so I'll just have to have a good few weeks riding and prepare for the next GP and hope things improve and a bit of luck goes my way."
