Sheffield have been blocked from keeping Trevor Harding in their starting seven. Co-boss Neil Machin has revealed how he wanted to move Harding into Richard Hall's team position until the England Under-21 international returned from his broken hand.

But the British Speedway Promoters' Association refused the move as it is illegal.

Machin said: "It's a shame because we would have liked to have kept Trevor as long as possible as he did a great job during Kyle Legault's absence. But Kyle is ready to return and it's against the rules to declare your team on the proviso that you change it again in a week or two."

Legault is back in the Sheffield side for Monday's trip to Reading when Hull's in-form Swede Emil Kramer is the guest replacement for skipper Sean Wilson.
