Machine bewitched.
Oxford remain firmly rooted to the bottom of the Elite League table after another home defeat at the hands of the Ipswich Witches.
It was an uphill struggle for the Silver Machine who continued to have the worst luck imaginable, ending the night with only five riders. First to go was Tobias Kroner who was in second place when he picked up some drive sending him straight into the fence in heat six. He was forced to withdraw with a bruised sternum. Billy Hamill was then forced to withdraw in heat eleven after he shed another chain and fell awkwardly on the first turn.

It caused a horrific incident for the Witches Robert Miskowiak who could not avoid the fallen American and was sent at full speed into the safety fence. The force of the impact catapulted him into the air like a rag doll and he ended up on the greyhound track. Amazingly, the World Under 21 Champion was able to get up, walk back to the pits and then win the rerun!
With the school holidays fast approaching, Oxford promoter Nigel Wagstaff has announced a very special offer for next Thursday night when the table topping Belle Vue Aces are in town. All Children, up to the age of 15, will be admitted free of charge as long as they are accompanied by a full paying adult. There will be giveaways and goodies as well as a lucky draw to win a visit to the pits and a signed race top.
Oxford move onto Eastbourne Saturday night and will be hoping that the injuries to Billy Hamill and Tobias Kroner are not serious and that they will be able to return to the team.
