Womble required for Wimbledon.
As it gears up for a return to the British speedway scene, Wimbledon is eagerly seeking one of its more famous local residents to help entertain the crowds.
An application to run the 'Dons' in the British Conference League has been accepted, and the management team behind Wimbledon's return is in the thick of filling various posts before the season begins. As well as the usual requirements for plumbers, car park attendants, stewards, painters and decorators, however, the team is still hoping to fill more glamorous roles such as those of startline girls.

Most importantly, however, is the search for a Womble to entertain the crowds on race day - and anyone with a suitable outfit who doesn't mind getting hot in it on a summer's evening are encouraged to contact the team.
Various events are also now in place for the pre-season build-up, with a date having been set for the dinner at the stadium with Dons legend Ronnie Moore.
The event will take place on Monday 29 April, and tickets are now on sale at ?30.
A press and practice day has been arranged for Thursday 18 April and, whilst the day will not be open to the general public, the club is inviting members of its supporters club to attend between 1400-1800hrs completely free of charge to get a first hand chance to see some of the riders in action.
The season starts on 2 May.
