Jorgensen ends Dryml's run.

After cruising to victory in the first three rounds of the Ivan Mauger Golden Helmet series, Lukas Dryml had his run ended by John Jorgensen in the fourth round at the Mackay Motordome, Queensland last night.

After cruising to victory in the first three rounds of the Ivan Mauger Golden Helmet series, Lukas Dryml had his run ended by John Jorgensen in the fourth round at the Mackay Motordome, Queensland last night.

Dryml sent a message that he was out to make it four straight final victories by scorching to two wins in qualifying before a second to Trent Leverington, himself in fine form with two wins and a second, was enough to take both to a semi-final appearance.

Meanwhile, Jorgensen opened with a good win of his own before a retirement almost ruined his chances but he fought back well with a second place in his last qualifying ride took him to the other semi-final, which he won from Christian Henry.

Dryml then took the second semi-final from Leverington to set up yet another final clash with his main rival Jorgensen. On previous form, Dryml was an odds-on certainty to make it four final wins in a row.

But it was Jorgensen that sped away for a tapes-to-flag victory from the lively Henry with Dryml a surprising third after being able to find no way round the young Australian. Jorgensen's win closes the gap on Dryml, who has a two point lead over the Dane in the series standings. Round five takes place at Gosford on November 30.
