Action Express leads first Daytona test day as Alonso debuts
Action Express Racing's Filipe Albuquerque laid down the early pace in the Roar Before the 24 test on Friday ahead of the Rolex 24 at Daytona later this month as Fernando Alonso made his official practice debut for United Autosports.
Albuquerque topped both of Friday's practice sessions for Action Express in the #5 Cadillac DPi-V.R., turning in a best lap time of 1:37.196 in the afternoon to finish the day one-tenth of a second clear of the field.

Colin Braun took P2 overall for CORE Autosport, while Renger van der Zande completed the top three in the #10 Konica Minolta Cadillac, two-tenths off Albuquerque's headline pace.
Fernando Alonso enjoyed his first official running behind the wheel of the #23 United Autosports Ligier JS P217 ahead of his sports car racing debut later this month, completing 20 laps in total. Alonso finished half a second back from co-driver Lando Norris, with the team finishing ninth overall.
Laurens Vanthoor led the way in GT Le Mans in the #912 Porsche 911 RSR, while Rolf Ineichen topped GT Daytona in the #11 GRT Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracan GT3.
