V8 Supercar team Longhurst Racing sent imprisoned Australian Schapelle Corby a message of support via the windscreen of Max Wilson's Ford Falcon at Eastern Creek this weekend.
Team owner, and fellow Gold Coaster, Tony Longhurst feels very strongly about the plight of Corby, who was found guilty of smuggling 4.1kg of marijuana into Bali and, on Friday, sentenced to 20 years in prison. The series veteran has taken the step of displaying a banner of support for Corby and her family across the windscreen of the team's car #45, and has also taken his own personal action to show support.
"I feel it is the least I can do," Longhurst said, "I think the majority of Australians feel for her and her family, and anything we can do to rally support must help to get her back home.
"I had intended taking my family to Bali again within weeks for our annual holiday on the island - I have just today cancelled our booking and never plan to return."
