Atkinson boosted by new backer.

Subaru's Chris Atkinson has been given a boost in the build-up to this weekend's event in Cyprus, with news that Northern Arch - 'a global provider of asset finance, fleet management, and consumer credit software' - will support the 25-year-old as he looks to firmly establish himself in the WRC.

"We are a very pro-active thinking company and always looking at ways to stay ahead of our competition and strive to achieve our highest goals, Chris has very much the same attitude," said Northern Arch's Lester Singleton.

"I am very surprised that many other companies haven't already thrown their support behind Chris and taking full advantage of the opportunity to promote their business in conjunction with Atkinson's rising profile, not only throughout Australia but also the world.

"We would welcome other companies to join us in using Chris as the face of their marketing campaigns."

Subaru Corporate Affairs manager David Rowley said: "Rallying and talented young drivers like Chris are an integral part of our success. He helps generate significant interest in our brand and other companies that support him."
