Colin McRae was second, 1.9 seconds adrift, followed by Roman Kresta, Kris Meeke, Mark Higgins, Henning Solberg, Xavier Pons and Antony Warmbold.

Mitsubishi's Gigi Galli also completed the stage, despite going off the road and into a ditch. The Italian was consequently over 7 seconds slower than Stohl.
