Step into the unknown for Companc.
Stobart VK's Luis Perez Companc will make his debut on the Telstra Rally Australia this week.
This will be Companc's seventh outing with the M-Sport-run squad and the Argentine, like his team-mate, Matthew Wilson [see separate story], is relishing the chance to again use the new 2006-specification Focus.
"This is going to be all new to me as I've never done Rally Australia before. I have seen pictures of the stages, so I understand a little bit about what to expect - but not too much," he stated prior to the event.

"The one thing I do know a little bit about this week, is the car. I drove the Focus RS WRC 06 for the first time on Rally Japan at the start of September and absolutely loved it.
"The old Focus really wasn't a bad car, but the new one is better. It gives you so much confidence and power from the drivers' seat."
Companc is scheduled to compete in eight events with the Stobart squad this season and to date his best finish was a ninth place on his home round in Argentina at the end of April.
He will conclude his season in the WRC in New Zealand next month, the penultimate round in the 2006 FIA World Rally Championship.
