Nicolo Bulega, the rider closest to Razgatlioglu in the championship, starts in fifth place. It's been a mixed weekend for Bulega, with reasonable speed but without much consistency so far.
A crash for Alvaro Bautista in Superpole leaves the reigning champion down in 11th place on the grid. He wasn't entirely happy with his feeling on the bike in dry conditions yesterday, either, so it will be interesting to see what progress he can make in this Race 1.
Danilo Petrucci and Jonathan Rea round out the front row, but the track has dried out considerably compared to this morning.
Toprak Razgatlioglu starts on pole position fro Race 1, having gone fastest in Superpole. He can win the title this weekend, but not today, whatever happens.

Alvaro Bautista has crashed at the Interior Parabolica. He was on a personal best lap, but with only a minute left the best he can now hope for is seventh place.
Nicolo Buelga said yesterday he needed to find some speed, and it seems that he has - he's third for now, one place above Razgatlioglu, who is on an improving lap.
Danilo Petrucci has hit the top now and is over 0.7s clear of Rea, as Toprak Razgatlioglu's first timed lap gets him up to fourth place.
Michael van der Mark has moved up to second place with his latest lap, and has cut Rea's advantage to 0.375s, as Alex Lowes heads back out.

Lowes has got back on his Kawasaki and is riding back to pit lane now. There's eight minutes left in the session so it will be work against the clock for Kawasaki to get him back out to set a time.
Alex Lowes was on a strong opening lap, but he's crashed at turn eight, being high-sided over the top. He seems okay and has walked away but that looks like it will be Superpole over for Lowes.

Conditions are patchy at best at the moment, and with only 13 minutes now remaining it's hard to see anyone switching to slicks before the end of the session.
