Dominique Aegerter declared unfit for opening day of Jerez WorldSBK test
The former two-time WorldSSP champion will take no part in the remainder of day-one in Jerez due to illness.
Dominique Aegerter was declared unfit due to a suspected viral infection, and will instead be re-evaluated in the morning to see whether he can take part in day-two of the Jerez WorldSBK test.
A statement from Yamaha said: Medical Update: Dominique Aegerter will not ride today as he is unwell with a suspected viral infection.
We will re-assess his condition in the morning after resting overnight and decide if he will participate in the second day of testing at Jerez.
The Swiss rider’s team-mate Remy Gardner has so far been one of the standout performers on day-one in Jerez, as he exchanged top spot with new BMW rider Toprak Razgatlioglu this morning.
