Multiple superbike world champion Carl Fogarty has begun the long haul towards full fitness, following his recent arthroscopy on an injured knee.
In and out of hospital on the same day, rider-turned-team boss 'Foggy' commented that he was looking forward to resuming his normal active life, even if the recovery would take time.
"The operation was well worth while," he said, "My knee isn't as swollen as I thought it would be and feels much better than I expected it to so soon after the operation. The arthroscopy cleared out a lot of rubbish that was floating around in my knee joint and the tear in the cartilage appears to have been repaired successfully."
Although it will be a few weeks before he is able to take any impact on his knee and so continue jogging, playing tennis or riding a bike, Fogarty is already walking with relative easy and set for a speedy recovery.
