Tardozi believes Qatar crash hit Toseland hard.

World Superbike champion James Toseland is in an uncharacteristic 22nd place after the final qualifying of the thrid round of the champpionship at Valencia.

Speaking exclusively to Crash.net Toselands Xerox team manager Davide Tardozi feels they aren't having such a bad weekend.

"I think it is not so bad. Looking forward to the race today, I think it will be good for us to compete for the podium then."

With Regis on the front row of the grid a podium is likely.

However on the other side of the garage James Toseland is having another tough race weekend.

"Yesterday for sure destroyed in the mind because he has never been twenty third in the grid in his career. But I think James could be much, much better, and he can show that he can carry the number one even in the future," he explained.

With one bike on the front row and one on the sixth you have to wonder how different Laconi's set up is to Toselands, when asked this Davide said; "No not so different. I think James problem was just because yesterday he had bad problem with qualifying tyre, then he can't be top sixteen that is why he is so back."

As for James chances in the race Tardozi is confident in the current World Champion.

"It is a very tight circuit but I think he will be in the top ten. We are trying everything to let him come back in his level, but the hard crash he had in Qatar leave a bit of sign. I think from next weekend in Monza I think James can compete all the races for the podium and I really hope he can have a win in Silverstone," he concluded.
