The final step of the podium went to Australian Broc Parkes on the SSP Yamaha who had led the race for quite some time but faded towards the end. His team-mate Kevin Curtain also struggled, having run at the front for the bulk of the race he started to drop off and ended up in eleventh, he looked to be suffering tyre problems, which he also suffered with at Qatar.
Katsuaki Fujiwara also had a good result coming home in fifth place. British Rider Craig Jones scored one point by finishing in fifteenth place on the Reve Ekerold Honda.
