James Toseland's debut double World Superbike success on home turf - and maiden triumph at Brands Hatch - has been applauded by the chairman of the ACU's Road Race Committee.

In addition to Toseland's 'firsts', ACU Dunlop Tyres MotoStar Cup competitor Jay Dunn - leader of the ACU Suzuki GSX-R Trophy - was taking part in his first European 600 Superstock Championship race at Brands Hatch over the weekend. Whilst he was unable to score any points, qualifying for the race and finishing just outside the top 20 was in itself a major achievement for the 16-year-old. Dunn is the youngest rider in the series and has recorded a brace of victories from the five rounds held so far, currently heading the title chase by two points.

"James was on stage with Suzi Perry when we launched the ACU Dunlop Tyres MotoStar Cup at the NEC's International Motorcycle Show in 2006," remarked Jim Parker, chairman of the ACU's Road Race Committee. "How perfect that Jay was entering this European Championship meeting when James recorded this fantastic double victory.

"I'm sure Jay will become one of the riders participating within the ACU Dunlop Tyres MotoStar Cup who will rise through the British Championship levels and onto European or World Championship level."
