WorldSBK race 1 cancelled after Dean Berta Vinales accident in WorldSSP300
An update from WorldSBK has confirmed the worst possible news: 'Following a serious incident during Race 1 of the Motul Spanish Round of the FIM Supersport 300 World Championship at the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto, it is with great sadness that we report the passing of rider Dean Berta Viñales'.
Saturday's Jerez WorldSBK and WorldSSP races have been cancelled following a serious accident in the WorldSSP300 class involving Dean Berta Vinales, Alejandro Carrion, Daniel Mogeda, Harry Khouri and Yeray Ruiz.

Vinales, 15, a cousin of MotoGP star Maverick who rides for the Vinales Racing Team run by Maverick's father Angel, fell on lap 11 of the SSP300 race and appeared to be collected by the following group of riders.
The accident brought out an immediate red flag, with WorldSBK officials later declaring that no further racing will go ahead today, underlining the seriousness of the incident.
