Redding: Spectacular weekend ahead, I can feel a great passion
Scott Redding is predicting a 'spectacular' weekend for World Superbike at the brand new Mandalika track in Indonesia.
While most attention will naturally be focussed on the title showdown between Toprak Razgatlioglu and Jonathan Rea, WorldSBK's debut at the seaside circuit will also mark Redding farewell from the Factory Ducati team.
He Englishman, joining BMW next season, is effectively already confirmed as finishing third in the world championship but will be seeking finish 2021 in style by adding to his tally of seven victories of the season.
"I think it's going to be a spectacular weekend on a track where no rider has ever raced," Redding said. "I really like it because we'll all be in the same conditions from the first lap of the free practice.
"I can feel a great passion in Indonesia and I can't wait to race in front of the fans at the Mandalika circuit".
Meanwhile, team-mate Michael Ruben Rinaldi approaches the finale just eight points ahead of Yamaha's Andrea Locatelli in the battle for fourth in the world championship.
"Racing the last weekend of the season on a track that is new to everyone and in front of so many fans will certainly be something very exciting," said the triple 2021 race winner.
"Tomorrow we'll find out what awaits us but I can't wait to get on track and have fun and try to bring home some important results for me and for the team".
