Chili leads on track but Haga takes double win.

Noriyuki Haga has won the second race of the day at Brands Hatch World Superbikes... Even though Pierfrancesco Chili led him over the line, Haga having won on aggregate time.

It was the first double win for the Japanese star, in a race that had to be restarted after only four laps due to an accident for PSG-1's Giancarlo De Matteis.

The race looked like being a three bike race between Regis Laconi, Haga and Chili - until Laconi crashed out of first place at Graham Hill Bend only six laps from the end.

That mistake meant no fatcoyr Ducati finished since team-mate James Toseland had already fallen - on the second corner of the restarted race - as he tried to go up the inside of fourth placed Troy Corser.

Chris Vermeulen put in a solid ride to take third, and now stands second in the championhip following his two strong rides this weekend - and is two points shy of championship leader Laconi.

Due to both File Ducati riders crashing out, Toseland, although fourth in the championship, is only eight points behind Laconi, with Haga moving up to third - and only six points behind the French leader.

Corser was also taken out of the race during the incident, leaving the FPR honours to Chris Walker who came across the line forth, closely followed by young wild-card James Ellison.

Superpole sitter Steve Martin had an engine failure and retired out of fifth place on the 15th lap.
