2021 Official Barcelona WorldSBK Test, Thursday - Final
Six-time WorldSBK champion Jonathan Rea finishes the second and final day of Official pre-season testing fastest, just as he did on Wednesday.
The Kawasaki rider was second for much of the day behind American Garrett Gerloff, however, the pair exchanged top spot during the final 30 minutes, with Rea eventually setting a 1’40.264s lap time.
The closing stages also saw 2020 series runner-up Scott Redding jump up the order for Ducati to second place, while Gerloff was third fastest for GRT Yamaha.
It was a difficult day for the factory Yamaha team, as Toprak Razgatlıoğlu who was first to venture out on track this morning, had to cut his day short due to a positive COVID-19 test in a mandatory pre-travel polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya made it's debut on the WorldSBK calendar in 2020, with Jonathan Rea, Michael Van Der Mark and Chaz Davies all taking a victory each.
