Final lap hands Mahias top spot in FP3

Full WSS FP3 results from Donington Park

Lucas Mahias has laid down a marker to his World Supersport rivals ahead of qualifying by setting his fastest time on his final lap in FP3 at Donington Park.

The GRT Yamaha rider produced a 1m 30.396s to take the chequered flag and top spot in the final practice session, edging ahead of Kallio Racing Yamaha’s Sandro Cortese who had led for the majority of the 20-minute session.

Federico Caricasulo grabbed third place ahead of NRT Yamaha’s Jules Cluzel, to continue the Yamaha domination this year, with MV Agusta’s Raffaelle De Rosa in fifth place.

Randy Krummenacher has kept within touching distance of the front-runners in sixth place for Bardahl Evan Bros Yamaha, but over one second off of Mahias, with EAB Kawasaki’s Anthony West in seventh place.

Hikari Okubo led the Puccetti Kawasaki charge, with the team entering its first race weekend since Kenan Sofuoglu retired from racing, as Ayrton Badovini (MV Agusta) and Sheridan Morais (Puccetti Kawasaki) completed the top ten in FP3.
