Federico Caricasulo has grabbed pole position off Bradahl Evan Bros. Yamaha team-mate Randy Krummenacher for the 2019 World Supersport season opener at Phillip Island.
The Italian rider produced a late 1m 32.604s to take provisional pole by 0.079s and with Krummenacher stuck in the pits for the end of the qualifying session it handed the Italian the top grid slot.
The Bradahl Evan Bros. Yamaha pair are joined on row one by Jules Cluzel on the GMT94 Yamaha ahead of a unique race which will include a mandatory pit stop at the Australian circuit due to safety concerns.
MV Agusta duo Raffaelle De Rosa and Federico Fulgini front up the second row ahead of Thomas Gradinger on the Kallio Racing Yamaha.
Former Moto2 challenger Hector Barbera lines up at the head of row three for Team Toth Yamaha ahead of Puccetti Kawasaki pair Hikari Okubo and 2017 World Supersport champion Lucas Mahias with Hannes Soomer rounding out the top ten in qualifying on his Racedays Honda.
