The non-permanent street circuit in Marrakech is due to play host to the third round of the 2009 season, although the circuit itself is still subject to approval from the FIA.
The circuit was designed by D3 Motorsport Development, a partner of event promoter MGP, and one of the world's leading motorsport development companies. D3 is responsible for the construction of four of the most competitive and successful racetracks in motorsports, such as Surfers' Paradise in Australia.
The 4.54km circuit has already been subjected to several tests and inspections, pending final FIA homologation and its construction, along Boulevard Mohammed VI and Route de l'Ourika, is already under way under the supervision of Groupe MENARA.
"The circuit layout will allow for fast and challenging driving, giving fans and TV audiences an exciting performance," MGP president Ali Horma said.
