Pitt 'will need boxing gloves' for BSB debut
Former World Supersport champion, WSBK race winner and MotoGP rider Andrew Pitt will make his BSB debut for Motorpoint Yamaha this weekend at Mallory Park.
The Australian has switched to the British series after his satellite BMW ride in WSBK collapsed due to a lack of funds, while Motorpoint had its plans thrown into turmoil when Neil Hodgson was forced into retirement by a shoulder injury at round one.

The Australian has switched to the British series after his satellite BMW ride in WSBK collapsed due to a lack of funds, while Motorpoint had its plans thrown into turmoil when Neil Hodgson was forced into retirement by a shoulder injury at round one.
"This is a really exciting time for both Rob [Mac, team owner] and me. We have both had a tough season and are passionate about getting back on track," said Pitt. "The BSB is a world-class series with a world-class pace - you only have to look at the leaderboard in WSB to see that!
"I have had a few tests at Mallory Park and I have a better feeling about the bike now. I know the pace will be hot but I love getting into the battle and working hard. Let's hope this will be the turning point for the Motorpoint team and myself."
Pitt will ride alongside Dan Linfoot, who sits 13th after four rounds: "The arrival of Andrew Pitt is a real coup for our team. We needed some experience since Neil's retirement and hopefully Andrew can fix that."
"Our intention from day one was always to have a young gun with an experienced team leader. Unfortunately, Neil's early departure left the team with young Dan on his own, which wasn't ideal," added McElnea.
"Andrew has had to learn the tracks - as well as the bike - very quickly but he is an old pro and seems to be really enjoying himself. At Mallory Park you have to be ready for the unexpected because with three chicanes and a hairpin it is always going to be manic!
"Let's hope he has his boxing gloves packed as he's going to need them this weekend."
