Hickman ‘in a really good place’, fast ‘everywhere we have been’
Peter Hickman’s unfortunate second round of Bennetts British Superbike action at Knockhill is a thing of the past as he looks to rebound with a podium challenge at Brands Hatch.
Without a technical issue two corners from the end in race one, and being affected by contact in both race two and three, Hickman looked on course for another weekend like Oulton Park - three top six finishes including a podium.
"Knockhill did absolutely not go my way at all, but it wasn’t because we weren’t fast, so it is definitely a better position to be in than some of our competitors that’s for sure," added Hickman.
"I was happy with my performance, I was just unhappy with the results at Knockhill as we had more than what it shows.
"Everywhere we have been so far, and every test that we have done, I have been really happy – we have been competitive with the fight for not only the podium, but also the win so I am in a really good place at the moment and excited about the rest of the championship."
The aspirations for Hickman going into this weekend’s first of two British Superbike rounds at Brands Hatch, is to be fighting for the type of results his pace has warranted this year.
Hickman said: "The plan is definitely to try and bounce back this weekend at Brands Hatch; it was a weird Knockhill but I feel strong and good, so want to rack up those podiums as that is what makes championships and that is what we need."
