Marcus Armstrong is another addition to Ferrari’s vastly-growing Driver Academy network, with the 17-year-old set to embark on his maiden season in European F3 with single-seater giants Prema.

The New Zealander has already raced in 2018, finishing third in his homeland’s Toyota Racing Series, following up on an impressive 2017 campaign.

Four race victories helped Armstrong seal the Italian F4 championship, while he was denied a second championship in the same year by just four-and-a-half points in the equivalent ADAC German series.

Despite being one of the youngest drivers on the European F3 grid in 2018, Armstrong will be determined to fight at the sharp end with Prema’s backing, but faces stiff competition from his team-mates in what promises to be a fascinating intra-team battle between Mick Schumacher, TRS champion Robert Shwartzman, Ralf Aron and Guanyu Zhou.
