In a dramatic announcement during the unveiling of Benetton's new 1998 F1 challenger, the B198, in London today (15/1/98) David Richards proudly announced that the Benetton Formula One team had reached agreement with Bridgestone Tyre Corporation only a few hours earlier to run on their tyres for the 1998 season.

Bridgestone now really have a realistic chance of finally securing their first Formula One Grand Prix win this season, Benetton join McLaren who defected in December of 1997 to Bridgestone from Goodyear, the other Bridgestone runners being Minardi, TWR Arrows, Stewart Ford, and Prost Grand Prix.
