Ken Tyrrell Resigns!
In a shock move today (20/2/98) Ken Tyrrell, the Chairman of the Tyrrell Racing Organisation, announced that he is to step down as head of the famous team he founded in 1960. Business Development Director, Bob Tyrrell, his son has also resigned. Operational responsibility for the 1998 season will pass to Dr Harvey Postelthwaite, who will take over the combined roles of Managing Director and Technical Director. The changes take effect immediately.

It is thought that both Ken and Bob Tyrrell?s decision to quit the team came after the new owners (British American Racing) led by Craig Pollock and Adrian Reynard decided to sign up Ricardo Rosset as team mate to Tora Takagi and not Jos Verstappen as was favoured by the Tyrrell family.
