The issue of the bond replaces the planned, but problematic, flotation of Formula One Holdings, but has yet to be assigned a time scale. The original flotation floundered after an EU investigation into F1's allegedly unfair broadcasting rights, leading Ecclestone to announce the bond issue - secured by future revenue - in September.
