David Coulthard has swapped race engineers in preparation for the British Grand Prix on Sunday, with long-time partner Tim White the man to lose his position.


White and Coulthard have worked together at McLaren since 1997, but a consistent run of mechanical problems with the Scot's car this season has finally cost White his job. He will be replaced by Russian Sergei Rostropovic from Silverstone onwards, as Coulthard seeks to get his faltering championship challenge back on track.


Rostropovic's experience before moving to McLaren includes a spell at Scuderia Lada in the Russian Formula Three series.
