Michelin To Use Fw21 For Tyre Tests.

Michelin is rumoured to be hiring a Williams chassis with which to conduct tyre testing for 2001.

The French company, which is making its return to Formula One after over a decade away from the category, is believed to have negotiated a 'reduced price' for use of an 1999-spec FW21 complete with BMW V10 engine. Williams is one of two teams - along with the nascent Toyota works effort - to have signed a deal to use Michelin rubber in 2001.

Bridgestone carried out similar tests, using an tried and tested F1 chassis, prior to making its entry to the sport in 1998.
