Stirling Moss officially became Sir Stirling Moss yesterday [Tuesday], following his investiture at Buckingham Palace.

In the Queens absence, Prince Charles conducted the ceremony, bestowing the knighthood on Moss for his services to motorsport. The Englishman never won the world championship, but many people believe that he would have been a deserving champion. He finished as runner-up on no fewer than four occasions.

An accident at Goodwood effectively finished his competitive career, but 70-year old Sir Stirling continues to compete in historic and fun events around the world.
