Coulthard wins Monaco GP.
David Coulthard inherited victory in this afternoon's Monaco Grand Prix, after runaway leader Michael Schumacher was forced out by car failure.
The German has seemingly trounced the field after both McLarens were boxed behind the Jordans of Jarno Trulli and Heinz-Harald Frentzen at the third start of the day, but succumbed when an exhaust failure caused his suspension to overheat and break.
Coulthard, having moved into second when Trulli's gearbox cried enough, was then in the right place to inherit the lead and, ultimately, the win.

Frentzen crashed out of what would have been second with just a handful of laps remaining and, in doing so, allowed Mika Hakkinen to pick up a solitary world championship point after being forced to pit mid-race with a mystery brake problem.
Between Hakkinen and the leader subsequently came Rubens Barrichello, Giancarlo Fisichella, Eddie Irvine - scoring Jaguar's first world championship points - and Mika Salo. There were just nine finishers in another typical Monaco race of attrition.
A full report and results will follow shortly....
