Fiorano test - day three: 2 August.

Minardi joined Ferrari at the latter's Fiorano facility yesterday, as both worked towards a solution for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Luca Badoer was on hand for the 'home' team, completing a race distance as the Scuderia advanced its development programme towards next weekend's event. Although the run was split into three section by the need to complete pit-stops, Badoer covered a total of 136 laps, with a best time of 1min 02.030secs.

Minardi, meanwhile, started its first day of Hungaroring testing, and ran both regular driver Gaston Mazzacane and protege Fernando Alonso in the course of the session.

The Argentine ran through a series of tests with the latest version of Minardi's high-downforce set-up, as well as a development of the MO2's cooling system, in anticipation of the usual hot conditions at the tortuous Hungarian circuit.

Alonso took over from his senior partner in the afternoon and, having settled himself into his first run in the team's latest Formula One machine, and worked through a basic programme aimed at finding the ideal set-up for his style.

Between them, the two drivers covered 78 laps, with Mazzacane coming out fractionally ahead on time.

The Argentine is expected to return to day to complete the test, and will be joined by both Badoer and Ferrari team leader Michael Schumacher.
