Jordan launches best ever sponsor portfolio.

On the day that it launched the car it hopes will return it to the winners' circle in Formula One, Jordan also announced its strongest ever line-up of sponsors.

Headed by long-term partner Benson & Hedges, which has been primary sponsor since January 1996 and is responsible for developing Jordan's strikingly visible yellow livery, the portfolio now includes co-sponsors Deutsche Post World Net, the global logistics company, and two of its subsidiaries - Danzas and DHL - for 2001.

With Heinz-Harald Frentzen - the team's most successful driver in terms of wins - helping to increase the team's profile in the German market, Jordan has also attracted major new backing from Munich-based Infineon Technologies, a leader in the field of semicondustors and communications systems. German industry is further represented by Puma, Jordan's official teamwear supplier, Hamburg-based e-services consultancy World of Internet and entertainment product manufacturer Grundig.

Jordan has boasted strong backing from American companies in recent years, and the theme continues into 2001 with global payments system MasterCard International, communications network supplier Lucent Technologies and data storage experts Imation remaining on board for another season. The team's IT infrastructure needs continue to be met by Hewlett Packard, its longest-standing sponsor which recently announced a new three-year agreement.

Brother Industries, the manufacturer of office and domestic products, has renewed its association with Jordan for a second season, while UK investment company LeggMason Investors signed a three-year agreement with the team towards the end of last year. Mobile communications company ESAT Digifone has also renewed its support of the team, having already enjoyed a four-year relationship as its only Irish backer. Fleet service company Powermarque, racewear manufacturer OMP and champagne supplier Laurent-Perrier complete the line-up.

The sponsors generate a total of $150billion between them in annual revenue and employ in excess of 600,000 personnel worldwide. Together with other sources of income, including television rights payments and royalties from merchandise and licensing agreements, they will provide Jordan with forecast revenues of $100million in 2001.
