Zonta and Jordan on top on day one at Monza.

Ricardo Zonta today commenced Jordan-Honda's four-day test in very warm conditions at Monza. The Brazilian posted the day's fastest lap time - a 1m 25.125seconds

Zonta made a productive start to the testing programme as he worked through chassis set-up for the Italian Grand Prix during the morning and finished the day with tyre evaluation.

An engine oil system problem requiring an engine change, coupled with numerous red flags hindered the team's running time for a few hours this afternoon resulting in Zonta completing a total of only 43 laps. Jarno Trulli will join Zonta tomorrow and continue driving on Thursday.
