McLaren International is pleased to announce the extension of its longstanding Technology Partnership with BAE Systems for a further five years.

"The extension of the Partnership with BAE Systems illustrates the value placed by both companies on the access provided to an unrivalled source of information, expertise and experience," said Ron Dennis, Chairman and CEO, TAG McLaren Group. "McLaren and BAE Systems share an approach dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology, and setting new standards of excellence in the development of high performance engineering products."

"A prime example of the Partnership is the secondment of BAE Systems' experts to the West McLaren Mercedes team's design office, encouraging innovative thinking and enabling both parties to draw on each others' knowledge and experience to deliver better solutions," concluded Dennis.

"We are really enthusiastic about the extension of our Partnership with McLaren," commented Mike Turner, CEO BAE Systems. "The synergies between BAE Systems and McLaren are extensive and our Partnership will continue to enable both companies to work closely together and achieve the competitive edge in our respective fields. Our Partnership is very stimulating for both parties as it encourages original thinking by seeing somebody working in a different environment to different time scales and in an entirely different area of application."

"BAE Systems is also putting a lot of effort into promoting engineering excellence and the significant contribution engineering makes to the UK economy. Our association with McLaren is very useful as the company is a highly successful, British-based engineering enterprise and helps to raise the image of the profession both internally and with the public as a whole," said Turner.

The BAE Systems logo will appear on the airbox of the West McLaren Mercedes Formula One car.
