Mosley: McLaren remind me of America...

In a further attempt to justify the radical rule changes announced last Wednesday, FIA president Max Mosley has compared the McLaren Formula One team with America during the Cold War years.

Mosley is said to believe that the Woking based team will be one of the main objectors to the FIA's rule changes - and says that's because they've got an almost limitless budget which they're determined to spend in order to win.

In a further attempt to justify the radical rule changes announced last Wednesday, FIA president Max Mosley has compared the McLaren Formula One team with America during the Cold War years.

Mosley is said to believe that the Woking based team will be one of the main objectors to the FIA's rule changes - and says that's because they've got an almost limitless budget which they're determined to spend in order to win.

"McLaren have a position that reminds me of America's during the Cold War, when they spent so much to win that conflict [and] also because nobody could match them on an economic level," Mosley told the BBC.
