Testing with new 2003 Ferrari suspended.

Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro and test driver Luca Badoer have had to cut short testing at Mugello this week with the new F2003-GA following an accident today [Tuesday] after only a handful of laps.

The official statement from the team confirmed that:

"Badoer went off the track at the Arrabbiata 1 corner and crashed very heavily into the barriers. Initial analysis points to a mechanical problem.

"The driver is in good physical condition and after undergoing checks at a hospital in Florence, was able to go home.

"The car was seriously damaged and has been taken back to Maranello for a detailed examination."

The Scuderia resumes testing tomorrow [Wednesday] at the Fiorano circuit, with Felipe Massa driving an F2002.
