Brawn: It wasn't a deliberate act.

Ross Brawn has vehemently denied suggestions that Michael Schumacher deliberately created the yellow flag situation at the end of qualifying.

Renault's Flavio Briatore was one of many to voice an opinion about Michael's behaviour after the session, insisting that it was a deliberate act.

"It looked like [it was], but I think everybody says that, not only me," said Flavio. "He wasn't touching the barriers, he was just parking the car. This is the way Ferrari manage things.

"He stopped everybody behind, he stopped us, he stopped McLaren, he stopped everybody."

Brawn had no time for any such suggestions.

"I think they should cool down a bit and let the facts come out, and they can have an opinion," said Ross. "There are a lot of emotions running round at the moment. They have to take an objective look at the facts and make a decision then."

Brawn insisted that it was a straightforward mistake by Schumacher, who somehow managed to stall after parking next to the barrier.

"He lost control of the car on the lefthander. He locked the brakes and lost the line and lost it in that corner. We've still got to talk to him and find out exactly what happened. There was a lot of cursing on the radio.

"We wouldn't do that sort of thing on purpose. Michael had clearly done a very good lap, and he was on another lap with low fuel, so it wasn't a deliberate act."

Brawn added that such a ploy was not the style of the seven-times World Champion: "Not the Michael I know."

Meanwhile Brawn says he is happy with preparations for Sunday's race.

"The car was good, the tyres performed well. I think we've got right choice for the race, which is encouraging. I was pleased with the way qualifying went, because we had all the right windows."
