With Michael Schumacher's pole position still in doubt, there is no confirmation as to where Fisichella will drop but at the moment he is due to start in tenth place.

Christian Horner had earlier said that the Italian driver got in the way of Coulthard when the Scot was on his fastest flying lap, costing him a place in the top five or six.

"He (Coulthard) looked as if he should have been able to qualify in the top five or six," Red Bull team boss Christian Horner, whose driver also attended the hearing, told >Reuters.

"Unfortunately he got blocked by Fisichella on his fast lap and that cost him a great deal of time."

Coulthard, who settled for ninth place and his best starting position of the year, was also disappointed that his best lap of the weekend was baulked by traffic. "I'm actually really pissed off. I've had no traffic all weekend and then, on my last flying lap, I got held up. Ninth is our position and I don't think it's the reward the team deserves for all their efforts this weekend.
