The Motorsport Academy has lined up a veritable 'who's who' of F1 engineering excellence to share their thoughts on world-class skills, training and employment at its inaugural 'Motorsport in Education' conference, to be held at Silverstone in the wake of the British Grand Prix.
The 10-11 July event will see 'resting' Ferrari strategist Ross Brawn, Renault title architect Pat Symonds and the legendary Patrick Head, who steered Williams to its greatest successes, joined by the well-travelled Frank Dernie and Sergio Rinland. The itinerary also includes a dinner at nearby Whittlebury Hall, where former Ford motorsport director - and renowned raconteur - Stuart Turner will be the guest speaker.
"We have secured an unbeatable line-up of world class speakers - without doubt the best brains in world motorsport," insisted recently appointed Motorsport Academy director Eric Newell, "This is an unparalleled opportunity for businesses and educators to discover all the things they, their employees or students, need to know to maintain their competitive edge. We are confident of a sell out for this conference, so recommend people to book early!"
'Motorsport in Education' is aimed at those interested and involved in the training, education and skills arena and keen to develop those areas to world-class level. It will demonstrate and discuss new developments and valuable opportunities linking motorsport to the education sector, and be of enormous potential value and relevance to related businesses, recruitment and training agencies, as well as those directly involved with universities and colleges. The 200 strictly-limited places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
The conference is timed to immediately precede the Formula Student competition, which is taking place at Silverstone for the first time over 12-15 July, helping to ensure a truly international audience, for which delegates from India and the USA are already signed up.
