Brundle is one of a number of people to get an honorary degree from the UAE, along with the likes of innovative architect Prof Will Alsop, human rights campaigner Shami Chakrabarti and Norfolk-based writer Anthony Thwaite.
"Each year UEA honours individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the arts, science or learning, or to the university and the region," said UEA Registrar and Secretary Brian Summers. "This year we bring together a wonderfully diverse group of talented people who richly deserve this recognition."
The honorary degrees will be awarded at this year's graduation ceremonies which take place from July 10-13 at UEA.
