Mercedes launches Bottas helmet design competition
Mercedes has launched a fan competition to design a new helmet for Valtteri Bottas for the 2018 Formula 1 world championship season.
A similar competition during the build-up to last season gave fans the opportunity to create a design for Lewis Hamilton and following on from that success Mercedes has started a new contest for the British driver’s team-mate.

A similar competition during the build-up to last season gave fans the opportunity to create a design for Lewis Hamilton and following on from that success Mercedes has started a new contest for the British driver’s team-mate.
Fans have just over 10 days to enter their best designs to Mercedes with the winning entry to be selected by Bottas which will act as his primary helmet design for 2018 to be used for most races. F1 drivers are allowed a limited number of special helmet designs per season but are encouraged to keep a consistent look to help fans recognise and become familiar with designs.
The winner of the competition will be awarded a replica of their helmet design signed by Bottas with the winner expected to be announced via Mercedes F1’s social media channels. The deadline for entries is 5pm GMT on the 12th January 2018.
Bottas is gearing up for his second season with Mercedes having joined as an 11th hour replacement for the retiring Nico Rosberg at the start of 2017. Bottas clinched three race wins and four pole positions last season on his way to third place in the F1 drivers’ world championship.
