The Italian manufacturer has become the first team to officially announce its launch with team principal Maurizio Arrivabene confirming the date at Milan’s Garage Italia during the Autosprint awards.
With the week before the start of winter testing traditionally used for F1 car launches, Ferrari has slotted itself into the favoured final Friday ahead of the opening test at Circuit de Catalunya which begins on Monday February 18th.
Ferrari will officially reveal new driver Charles Leclerc alongside Sebastian Vettel, with the 21-year-old replacing Kimi Raikkonen in the factory driver line-up from 2019, along with the yet unnamed 2019 F1 car.
The Italian manufacturer will be entered into the 2019 Formula 1 world championship as Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow following its recent campaign launch with Philip Morris International, while the car’s name is tipped to remain part of the current trend and follow on from this year’s SF71H.
